What is Cranial Osteopathy?

“Cranio-sacral therapy focuses on the palpation of subtle

involuntary movements and rhythms of the body normally felt

by the practitioner cradling the patients head but can be

felt on any area of the body.  A nonstandard cranial rhythm

can result in a dysfunction elsewhere in the body dependant

on where the irregular rhythm is felt as osteopaths believe

that the structure of an area in the body can affect the functioning

of the components around that structure.

It is a very gentle approach to treatment but is extremely effective.

The practitioner first has to focus on palpating the rhythm which can

then be assessed and mild movements involving light pressure

are used as treatment to relieve tensions and compressions and

resolve other complaints associated with the tensions.”
